If you were a box of cereal what would you be and why: I'd like to think I was fairly substantial and dependable like muesli, but I'm probably more frivolous than that. Coco Pops?
What did you want to be when you grew up: Actor, chef, or musician. I stumbled into academia and couldn't shake it off.
Where are you right now: Back chained to my computer in the Institute of Geography on Drummond Street after the all-too-brief Christmas holidays.
Tell us something about another staff writer: I haven't met anyone other than Becky who is a veritable powerhouse! She was very excited when I said I was getting married. We barely knew each other at the time and I thought that was lovely!
Montgomery, Alabama is a city of real struggle. Everywhere you turn there are plaques, information boards, murals, memorials, and statues, dragging the tourist gaze back to the South’s tumultuous past. Walking around the city, it is hard not to feel deeply affected by both the gruesome and truly heroic stories which have come to shape the state and the country.
